VINELink Custody in Hickman County
Tennessee's Sheriffs' Association states that all 95 sheriffs take part in TN SAVIN. That claim covers Hickman County. The county itself posts no VINE page or local feed. The statewide word is what carries the service here. It's free and confidential. It stays open around the clock through VINELink or the state line at (888) 868-4631.
Think of VINE as event-driven. It can show whether a matched person sits in participating custody. It can also send notice of a release, transfer, or similar change. It won't print a full daily booking list. There's no gallery, no Hickman County arrest report, and no final court judgment. The official TN SAVIN page describes statewide participation.

The capture documents the state program that supports a Hickman County VINELink search.
Run a Hickman VINELink Check
Search one person at a time and compare identifiers before accepting a result.
- Open VINELink and choose Tennessee.
- Select the county or facility route offered by the current interface and locate Hickman County if prompted.
- Enter the person’s full name. Add a booking or offender number when available.
- Review every possible match and compare name, location, identifier, and status.
- Open the correct record details before selecting a notification option.
Interfaces change, and an old bookmarked VINELink URL may simply fail. Start from the current VINELink home page every time. Also, never type another person's contact details into a public demo or screenshot.
What Hickman VINELink Results Mean
Fields vary with the live deployment and a record's status. The table covers common custody information, though not every field shows for every Hickman record.
| Result item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | Identity attached to the custody record |
| Booking or offender number | Identifier used to distinguish records |
| Custody status | Current state reported by the participating agency |
| Facility or agency | Custodian associated with the record |
| Notification option | Registration for supported status changes |
| Release or transfer event | A reported custody change, not a case disposition |
A "Released" label describes custody only, not any court outcome. "Transferred" points to another facility or system holding the person. When a result seems unclear, call the agency.
Register for Hickman Custody Alerts
TN SAVIN lets you register by phone or email, with a four-digit PIN handling telephone notification. Options may also include text or TTY, depending on the service and record.
- Open the correct person’s record and choose “Get Notified,” “Record Details,” or the current equivalent.
- Select an available contact method and enter information you control.
- Create the requested four-digit PIN and store it securely.
- Confirm the registration steps shown by the service.
- When an alert arrives, listen or read carefully and verify urgent questions with the holding agency.
Unanswered automated calls can repeat under the court-notification setup. Don't register a contact method someone else controls without consent. Alerts give notice, not a shield against every delay or gap. The Tennessee VINE Courts page explains related court-status mechanics.

The official notification framework keeps court events separate from jail booking data.
Fresh Hickman Arrests and VINE Lag
Statewide participation doesn't promise instant results. Identity processing, a short custody episode, a transfer, agency transmission, or system status can all delay a record. Hickman publishes no data-lag interval.
Missing a fresh arrest? Call the sheriff at (931) 729-6143 rather than repeating searches. Never assume the person was released.
The Daily Arrest Report explains that official fallback for same-day checks. Give the sheriff an exact name and a narrow date range. Then ask whether the jail holds the person and whether a public lookup exists.
County Jail Versus TDOC VINE
A recent Hickman booking means county custody. A sentence or transfer to the Tennessee Department of Correction changes things. That moves a person onto the state path. TDOC FOIL searches by name, TDOC ID, or State ID. It may surface supervision or prison details. Turney Center sits in Only, inside Hickman County. It's a TDOC prison, not the county jail.
A VINE result may reflect either a county or a state custody event. The county booking record and the TDOC profile stay separate, though. Before requesting more records, ask which agency owns the status and which identifier it shows.
VINELink Does Not Show Everything
VINELink is no substitute for the arrest records themselves. It won't hand you the arresting agency's incident report. The sheriff's booking record, a booking photograph, and a date-range arrest log are out too. It isn't the federal Bureau of Prisons locator, either. Immigration detention runs through the ICE locator, and federal incarceration through its own official system.
Someone booked and released fast may not track well in a current-custody tool. Older bookings may need a public-records request. A court case can also keep moving once county custody ends. For charges, dates, and outcomes, there's another route. Turn to Hickman Law & Court Services and the AOC clerk directory.
VINE Alerts and County CodeRED
Hickman County swapped Nixle for CodeRED on general public-safety alerts. CodeRED can push emergency or incident messages picked by officials. It's no personal custody-notification system. For one person's supported custody changes, VINELink and TN SAVIN remain the right tools.
The sheriff lists no booking app. A generic phone app isn't an agency tool. The county should name its publisher and link first. Centerville Police's official Facebook presence can announce incidents. It's no jail roster, though, and no replacement for VINE registration.
Verify a Hickman Custody Change
Say a VINE alert says an inmate was released or moved. Write down the time first. Then save the exact status wording, the facility, and the identifier. If a custody change touches a safety plan or a legal deadline, call the listed agency and confirm it with a person. VINE moves fast, but no automated alert should carry that weight alone for an urgent decision in Hickman County.
